DragonCon 2012 - writing advice from Janny Wurts

Post by klbritt » September 4th, 2012, 11:53 am

My hubby just finished "geeking" out at Atlanta's DragonCon this weekend and got a chance to talk with a few authors: Brandon Sanderson and Janny Wurts to name a couple. Anyway, I asked him to get some writing advice from them and sadly, he only asked Ms. Wurts. But here is her advice:

"If you want to be good at something, do it for 4 hours a day for 5 years..."

and

"As an author, never worry about copyrights, edits, beta readers, etc. Worry about the writing and then worry about the story. Everything else takes care of itself if you are any good."

Anyone else ever receive writing advice directly from an author? What was it?
