I'm a bit confused by your post. Do you want to publish your own book of poetry, as in self-publish it, or are you interesting in attracting a publisher to publish with? These are two different things.

You could also browse Nathan's blog. He has tons of information about how to publish. Your questions are good ones, but it's hard to know how to answer them because there's so much information out there. On the other hand, poetry is a bit of a specialization, and I don't really know much about how to publish it - maybe start with poetry magazines??? I just don't know.
