Audio copyright question....

Post by markcecil » April 21st, 2011, 10:30 am

Hi Nathan, I'm considering doing a recording of some of the books of the Bible and selling them online via a blog.

What do I have to think about re copyright?

I know that I can record the King James version and it's not an issue. But what should I consider with more modern translations?

Let me know....thanks so much.

Mark

I'm not a publishing attorney so I'm probably not the best person to weigh in. While the Bible itself is obviously in the public domain, I don't know about the ins and outs of the copyright status of modern translations of the Bible. Sorry!
