Name That Book (not a game)

Post by Watcher55 » January 10th, 2011, 10:44 am

I read in the late '70's so it's pretty old. Does anyone recognize it?

MC is chosen for a mission because he's totally asocial.
He's put on a ship and aimed him at a black hole.
His bureaucrat handler beams his own personality into the ship's AI.
MC goes in the black hole...blah....Mc comes out.
MC lands on Earth centuries later
Antartica and I think parts of Australia and South America are habitable
Transporter devices between continents
Secret of perpetual youth
Tribes of children

Is it a children's book?

Definitely not a children's book. It's serious sci-fi and somewhere between 600 and 800 pages long. I guess it's more obscure than I thought.

hmm tricky. It sounds a bit like one of the Ender books, but not quite.

Sorry i couldn't be of any more help, but if you do find it, let me know because judging by your description, that book sounds awesome and i'd like to read it
