The Yin and the Yang of it

Post by BrownEyed » October 4th, 2010, 9:57 pm

Everyone appears to be switching to a new reality – the people in the current incarnation seem to be shifting to the right-sidedness of their brains. Creativity, emotions, patterns and context have come forth to rule the commonplace thinking, so it seems.

As you may know, analytical and “practical” ways of problem-solving come from our left-sided brain. The right is charged with sometimes being “illogical” and tending toward creative. You use it when you’re having that mushy fight of emotions with your partner, or when you’re painting modern art in your bedroom.
The left side has been much-ly in use by the Western minds. However, strangely, as it occurs to me, the society of the Wild West is repositioning itself toward the “softer,” magnetizing side.

The shift is happening every moment even as we speak. It happens when an executive quits looking at tiny parts and converts his view of things in to a holistic one. It also happens when hard, cold analysis is converted in to empathetic acts of understanding.

Experts say that the left-brain won’t be needed any longer, once our right-brain is polished enough to shine and become its own lone companion. Whether this is true or not, I have no clue – yet. But I won’t be exaggerating if I said I see strong signs in fellas around.

Writers, artists, crafters, et al are already there. They use the feminine qualities of the mind more than the masculine. They believe in play; the play of their spirits. The endeavor is spellbinding, to say the least. Playing with thoughts, beliefs, muses and creating out of these is the real essence of life for such. Not only does this perk up creativity, but also bashes everyday negativity.

Creative energy in everybody grows with each passing day. It’s no doubt that there are still those operating thoroughly with the left-sided brains. But, sooner or later, it shall change. The left needs to make some space for the right. The shift has to occur. It has occurred with me, for one.

I was in to a profession of plain logic: software. I was with it for quite a few years when I realised that something was nagging me constantly. At the back of my mind, this still, soft voice urged me to take the leap. And here I am now, loving it wholeheartedly.

What’s your nagging voice trying to tell you? Will you make space for some creative play in this avatar
