Private publicity for your book?

Post by hulbertsfriend » August 24th, 2010, 5:11 pm

Hi Nathan,

I received an e-mail from AuthorHive.com Who are they and is privately funded publicity for a book necessary? Isn't this something that agents and publishers provide for authors?

Thanks, DougM

I haven't heard of them. The decision about whether to seek outside publicity is a decision authors have to make on their own, but I wouldn't recommend engaging someone before you either have a publisher or have decided to self-publish. Most major publishers provide some degree of publicity services for an author, but even still some authors will decide to engage additional publicity outside of the publisher.
