Currently, I've read 68 books in 2025 and I hope to reach at least 75 by the end of the year. To date, the most books I have read in a year is 151, which was in 2022. This would be the first year in the past five where I will not hit the triple digits. I'm not mad about it, though. I had other things to focus on this year. But I REALLY want to read 200 books a year, at least once.
The thing is, I think I probably could if I really tried. I had so much free time in recent years, 2025 included, that I did not take advantage of to read. And I know all the tips--audiobooks, reading before bed or another designated time to read, etc.--yet I don't utilize them fully. As such, it's a low-key goal to read 200 books, or at least close to it, in 2026.
Anyone have a number of books read in a year they really want to reach?
What's the most you've read in a year? What's a number of books you still have yet to reach but really want to?
