Request for a partial!

Post by EvelynEhrlich » March 5th, 2010, 4:35 pm

Hurrah! I just got my first request for a partial! (At first, I wasn't going to post anything because I didn't want to jinx it. But then I thought, what the heck! I'm bouncing off the walls here, and I need to share with people who understand!)

I sent my first 5 queries on Wednesday night to agents who wanted query letters only, partially because I wanted to try BlancheKing's suggestion of using that as a method to test out whether the query letter itself was any good. So it looks like it worked, at least for one agent (I also got 1 rejection, and 3 are outstanding). Thanks to everyone who gave me input on the query letter!

Fingers crossed that the partial is actually good... :) Happy Friday, everyone!

That's wonderful news for a Friday afternoon!!! Now you can go out and have a relaxing weekend. Well, maybe not relaxing - but do try.

Congrats!

Thanks! Of course, I'm going to spend all weekend polishing those 30 pages, which were "perfect" until I actually got a request to see them.

YEAH! Must be something in the air. Sent off a full today. A good friend, one who is published, gave me some advice. She said to allow yourself to celebrate in stages. Think positive but be realistic. Today, the sun was a little brighter, the surf was more fun, and the beer I'm drinking isn't just good, it's damn good!
My love of fly fishing and surfing connects me to rivers and the ocean. Time with water reminds me to pursue those silly little streams of thought that run rampant in my head.

Congrats on the full, Ryan! That's really great - make sure you let us know how it goes (and your NPR contest, too). I like that advice about celebrating in stages.
