Don't be nervous! There's nothing to be nervous about. It's sort of an adventure of your own design. If you make it to 50,000 words, that's awesome. That's a TON of work! But if you only get halfway there or you only manage to spend 30 days cleaning up a kick ass outline - you certainly haven't lost anything. If you take the enthusiasm and excitement of NaNo and use it to invigorate and push you to try something new, to try harder, to mine the very depths of your creativity, you'll already be a hundred miles further than you were on October 31st.
Also you'll have a lot of really cool people here doing NaNo too that you can run to for help on the really tough days

1) I think your theme sounds fantastic. It is also a topic I feel passionately about. Good luck with it! It can be tough. I was at an author panel this summer with several great YA authors on the topic of bullying. They completely changed the way I think and feel about it.mudpuppy wrote:Thanks, Miss Leigh. Well, I have had werid idea for this year's novel. I'm not sure if it would be YA, but it's certainly a lot different in tone than anything else I have ever written. I think the theme is going to be on bullying, a subject that I'm really passion about; but as I write the rough draft I'm still not sure if the theme is that or learning to leave the nest and grow-up.Sommer Leigh wrote:Don't be nervous! My user name is puslar (I signed up when I was 17 and stupidly misspell the word pulsar). My parents would only let me "talk" on the forums if I picked "gender netural" name which is why I picked such a odd name.
2) I think your parents sound pretty awesome and very smart
