How do you go about e-mailing an agent sample chapters?

Hi Nathan,

I'm preparing to send my query letter to agents but I'm not sure how I should go about sending my sample chapters. Should I copy and paste the text into the e-mail and leave it as is, or should I change the original text to plain text so that the formatting isn't ruined?

I would definitely change first to plain text and because formatting can do wonky things in different e-mail applications.
