I was hoping someone could explain how the sample system works for Kindle? I am about to put out a novella and I was thinking about having the people who formatted it send me a separate file with the first chapter.
But I've heard people say Amazon lets them sample 10%. So does Amazon do this automatically? If so, where do I find the samples? I've searched all over the amazon page for Kindle samples, and can't come up with anything.
If anyone could help me, or even just point me in the right direction, it would be much appreciated! Thank you!

Re: ebook samples
You have to go to a book's page to find the sample button. Pressing the button sends the sample directly to your kindle. I think it also works if you have the free kindle app for your PC or phone, but it's been a long time since I used the PC app and can't quite recall.
If you were to self-publish something on Amazon, during the process, an option comes up regarding sample length. You don't need a separate file. It takes the sample directly from the complete file you upload.
