Angel in Space! (Day 16 - Landed)

Post by Guardian » May 17th, 2011, 3:00 pm

It is presumably going to mean a little or nothing to many, but to me, who created this particular character, it means a lot and I’m really happy about what had happened with her, especially as I love this character the most of all my creations. Around two month ago I posted an encrypted “Post Secret” about this. That post said;

“Thousands of stars could tell thousands of stories. Now, I will be one of them, as I will be one with them.”

Now this phrase has become truth as my little winged lady character, Gracie, or by her full name, Grace Sessa Aredia has taken the first steps to be part of human history. Literally! While most literary / novel characters are usually trying to conquer Earth; and I hope she will do the same the day her story is released (11-11-11), as you can read in Grace’s introduction at Angeni’s Corner (http://www.angeniscorner.crystalshadeangeni.com), reaching the silent sea, space was her dream. Now with the help of NASA, her dream has come true and my winged lady has already gone where no fantasy angel character has ever gone before… into space. She is to orbit around our little blue planet aboard the Space Shuttle Endeavour (STS-134) on her final historic flight in her proud and long history.

This art, and my little angel’s cute face and spirit along with it, is travelling aboard Endeavour (Minus logos and texts);

So tonight, when you look up to the stars, you can be sure that a guardian angel is watching over you from space, just as she is watching over the brave astronauts and Endeavour herself. This wonderful and historic flight will travel millions of miles in the 16 day long exciting and important space mission where the Endeavour and her crew will finish the International Space Station; the station that Endeavour began to build more than ten years ago, back in 1998. As soon as they all land safely in the beginning of June, my little daydreaming space angel, or “Space Grace” as I like to call her, is going to receive her first official NASA certificate confirming this personal achievement, signed by the mission commander Mark Kelly.

This video deserves a new, extra entry, instead of being a simple daily update. :)

Lady Endeavour safely landed for the final time at Kennedy Space Center. Along with Endeavour, my little angel's picture made 248 orbits around Earth and took a journey of 6,510,221 miles in space. STS134 was the 25th and final flight for Endeavour which spent 299 days in space, orbited Earth 4,671 times and traveled 122,883,151 miles. Welcome home, Endeavour! Welcome home, Space Angel! :)

Crystal Shade's release is still 163 days away, but the little winged heroine, Grace Sessa Aredia already got her first certificate in our real world as she is participated in the STS-134 mission and her picture has flown aboard the Space Shuttle Endeavour (And her angelic spirit protected Endeavour too. :) ). Endeavour spent 15 days, 17 hours, 38 minutes, 51 seconds in space, made 248 orbits around Earth at an altitude of 220 miles, traveled at a speed of more than 17400 miles per hour and took a journey of 6,510,221 miles in space. STS-134 was the 25th and final mission of Endeavour.

Thank you for the beautiful flight! Fair winds and following seas, Endeavour!

Special Thanks to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration.

P.S.: For those who missed; watch this beautiful tribute video.
