Resources for Writing Pitches

Post by oldhousejunkie » April 14th, 2011, 2:54 pm

Hi all!

I am working on a pitch for my novel and having a heck of a time doing it! It is going to be a e-pitch and can be up to four paragraphs in length. Right now I have two versions: one is 151 words (three paragraphs) and the other is 193 (three paragraphs). The first one is as pared down as I can get for a 110,000 word novel, while the other is a little more detailed. Actually, as I re-read the second one, I think I've written a pretty darn good query!

Does anyone have resources or advice for this sort of thing? I found Nathan's post on one sentence, one paragraph, and two paragraph pitches. But I'm obviously in need of ways to pair down the words and play up the awesomeness.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
