It occurred to me after I posted - benefit of the doubt and all that...

A sign that Nathan's forums are coming up in the world...they get spammed every week or two starting...what, maybe three or four months ago?

Also, this is another good reason I do not rule the world. I would do inhumane things to spammers and inconsiderate drivers if I were dictator-for-life. :) If I had superpowers, I wouldn't quite be a superhero, not quite a supervillain. Mostly just scary.

HA! Yeah, I'm a pain in the butt on the road, because I work in transportation planning. I know what each of the lanes is supposed to be for. I know the speed limits on every road I drive even semi-regularly. I can look at a roadway and tell you what its classification is (in my state...feds have their own classifications), and if it's a county or city roadway, and if it's county I can tell you what the speed limit is when there are no signs posted. Then I get mad at other people for not knowing what I know and driving accordingly.

Don't even get me started on regional and land use planning. I'm the 'hitter' in my office. They send me to meetings when they want someone to point out 'pretty' is not a valid data set for analysis and that traffic models are only as good as the totally biased assumptions programmed into them to placate suck-up politicians and overzealous, idealistic young planners who are more concerned with what people should do than what they actually do and why. The psychology grad degree actually makes me a more proficient assassin of bad ideas in this particular field. My colleagues either grin from ear-to-ear or groan when I get to a meeting.
