NaNoWriMo Word Widgets
Re: NaNoWriMo Word Widgets
Well I'm going to fess up. With my dad's death last month, my heart just isn't in it right now.

Oh, hey! There I am! I was just about to add my name to the list, and I'm already there. Cool. :)
Now back to writing. I'm in the running for a cover in the 30 Days, 30 Covers competition, so I have to keep up to speed or I'll lose my place. If I haven't already. Eep.

I am so sorry to hear this news. It is understandable. The heart wants what it wants.Margo wrote:Well I'm going to fess up. With my dad's death last month, my heart just isn't in it right now.

Re: NaNoWriMo Word Widgets
I was doing really well for the first week. Aside from website problems and not being able to update my word count, I was plugging along without a lot of trouble.
And then Friday my husband took our car in to get looked at because the heater wasn't working (we are a one car household) and we found out that it wasn't our heater, it was the engine, and the fix would cost way more than what my car was worth. We were also told to stop driving the car immediately. So everything got dropped while I learned way more than I'd ever thought I wanted to know about new cars, negotiating with salesmen, and car salesmen horror stories in about 24 hours. I was up until well past 3 am Friday night not writing because of our car problems. The entirety of Saturday was spent test driving and haggling and figuring out what we wanted. All of Saturday night was spent actually purchasing the car. All of Sunday was spent driving it to our each parent house because everyone wanted to see the new car. Also, I made the mistake of buying Fable 3 for Xbox so there went Sunday night.
This car event over the weekend totally derailed me. I did some more outlining on Monday but somehow my inner editor got switched back on and I have been making faces at my first few chapters because they are kind of terrible and I keep doing this, "Wow that's a really boring chapter." And it is. And the choice has been between editing it to make it less awful and ignoring it but stewing while trying to write the next. I don't think my brain is tuning into NaNo very well this year. The IDEAS it is coming up with are kind of awesome, the execution has been a little embarrassing.
I hope everyone is doing better than I am. :-)

Wow, you guys have much better reasons than I do for not being inspired to write. I wish Margo the best, and good luck to the other NaNoers, but I have a feeling that I am not going to make it to 50K, or probably even close.

Well, if it helps anyone, I've started having nocturnal seizures\sleepwalking again and the soonest my neurologist could get me in is the 29th...
But I'm still trucking along! [waves flags]
YOU CAN DO IT!
(If it's not one thing, it's something else, always. XD)

Claudie! You're a maniac. And I mean that in a good way. 63,800? Simply amazing. Awesome, awesome job!

MY BACKSPACE KEY DOESN'T WANT TO WORK.
It's going click crunchie. I hate it when it does that.
Maybe this is a sign that I type too much. XD
Or edit too much?
50,000 by Friday, can I do it?!

Hey, I'd to be on there! My id is akari09. It might motivate me to not be so word lazy. Last night I attempted to write more, but I ended up spending probably a good hour coveting the Beatles boxed set on I-Tunes. The awesomeness! The price! The lack of money! Grrrr...one of theses days Beatles boxed set you shall be mine.

You people are amazing. It's mid November and most of you have written more than I do in six months.
Claudie, come up for air already!!! Geez.

Re: NaNoWriMo Word Widgets
It's the final NaNoWri-week---thought I'd bump the widget thread.
I'm hoping to make 60k but not sure due to holiday travel. You know that thing about not texting and driving? NaNoing and driving is frowned upon even more. And with good reason.
Any experienced NaNo-ers know how uploading your NaNo for wordcount works? Is scrambling necessary? Recommended? I know nothing.
Good luck to all on reaching your personal NaNo goals...

Final score bump! NaNo is over~!
Re: NaNoWriMo Word Widgets
It's ooooveeer. :(
Though I have to admit, if NaNo had gone on one more day, I would've collapsed or something. So. Many. Words. I'm still not sure how I feel about the two drafts resting on my computers. There's a lot of ideas in there that I love, but they will need to be reworked and rewritten again. Smoothened out.
I had to admit, however, I had fun. So much fun it is a bit insane. I'm a Wrimo at heart still, though I do intend to spend the 11 other months trying hard to be a writer. :)

Re: NaNoWriMo Word Widgets
Hey NaNo writers, I have a favor to ask!
Last week I posted an Unofficial 2010 NaNoWriMo Exit Survey on my blog. It is mostly asking for advice for those doing it next year which I am going to share next October to help people start off 2011 NaNoWriMo and to encourage those who have never done it before and are afraid to try
If anyone would like to take the survey I'd really appreciate it. :-) I am hoping that the 2011 NaNoWriMo writers can benefit from our 2010 wisdom and mistakes.
Thank you in advance if you do take it. Thank you thank you!!!
