Do Specific Agents Target Specific Publishers?

Are agents more 'popular' with certain publishers, as in, there stands a better chance for publication by good publishers if you manage to have say, xxx, as your agent? do publishing houses have any 'favorite' agents?

Yes, definitely, a crucial part of being an agent is targeting specific editors at specific houses with a manuscript based on their tastes. Relationships and networking play a very important role in an agent's success. Editors have agents whose taste they like as well, though I wouldn't say that publishers as a whole have "favorite" agents.
