OK Somebody had to do it.
I officially open [] THE EVENT [] thread.

The Event is a new offering from NBC involving supernatural content.
I see a conflict arising between the mortals, the immortals and the eternal(s) arising in a series that attempts to source out the spookiest levels of the new physics and its link to consciousness and various paranormal and supernatural themes.

So far the President character has made contact with the immortals whose ship crashed in Alaska in 1944.
The eternals later intervened by using a outward large infinite (universe's) event horizon to inward small inward (black hole) event horizon on a plane aimed at trying to kill the president. The plane pops back into the time space continuum in Arizona and the passengers are thought to be dead but slowly revive as they resynchronize to their normal time space relationships. Some mortals can be trusted some can not. Some immortals can be trusted but some can not. The plot implies the eternals could have intervened back in 1947 preventing or redirecting the crashed ship of immortals (97 are still in a special prison in Alaska) but chose not too. A lot of people are skeptical this series shall end up in a limbo-like pablumville for the non-conspiratorial masses like LOST with the real story to obscure and lost in obfuscations. NBC has big hopes for it. If i was an alien (immortal or eternal) I would be pulling for a coherent plot line with real revelations so I wouldn't be embarrassed by schilling for this one and getting my friends to watch along with me.

Viewing seems to have dropped from about 10 to 8 million viewers not sure what that means unless Lady Gaga is an immortal who is circulating rumours that the show is a load of bullocks.

I heard about this - I heard it's great.

I can't add something new - not while I'm in school. I hope it makes it, so I can go back and DVR it. Sounds like a cool show.

I forgot Cpt. Wonderbar wasn't in the office this week.
We'll see how much data the hollywood crowd got from USG.


It slowed slightly in episode four to give some back story for the female lead and family.


I use a simple system for supernatural thrillers:

Mortal = one ring of computation / being in body
Immortal = two rings of computation / being in a slowed body
Eternal = three rings of computation / being in multiple locations.


Here's a fun one. If legitimate it is an eternal being acting legally.

ring one = event horizon outward - universe 1/3/23/73
ring two = event horizon inward - vacuum pressure 99.9999>9
ring three = choice of point to observe - insert cross all sub-universe-equations.




Probably another rogue immortal getting spanked in NYC.
Not mentioning any names just idle speculation fired from the hip.
