My dad is dyslexic
My dad is dyslexic
I would love for him to read my book. He does enjoy listening to books on CD. I need affordable ideas that are not too hard for someone who is computer handicapped! Or if anyone has done this on their own in the past I'd love to hear how. Thanks!

Oh, I think I know something that might help. I wrote a blog post on it a few weeks ago: http://williammjones.blogspot.com/2010/ ... tools.html
In the post I mentioned a text to speech program called Natural Reader. You put your text into it, and it reads it back to you. It can even turn the text into an MP3 so you can listen to it on an Ipod. You can find the program here: http://www.naturalreaders.com/

Oh my Gosh! That is such a neat tool! Most text to speech readers I've encountered were awkward, but Natural Readers is great! Not only will it help someone with dyslexia be able to "read", but it helps point any awkward pauses or sentences. . . just like you mentioned, Will!WilliamMJones wrote:Oh, I think I know something that might help. I'll certainly be exploring this program more. Thanks for the tip. :)
