Send sample pages?

Post by otherside89girl » July 2nd, 2010, 8:55 pm

So, some agents specifically request a query and a certain number of sample pages. But what about those who don't specify about the pages? Should I assume they only want a query letter and nothing else? Or should I tack on the first 5 pages just in case?

Thank you!

I seem to recall that Nathan's advice is to send the first five pages unless specifically told not to send any or specifically told to send more.

Actually, 'word on the street' is you should send the sample pages no matter what. The agent can always ignore them, but if they like your query and the pages are there.........
