Instant Rejection

Post by superduperkool » July 1st, 2010, 8:40 am

I still have two agents looking at my manuscript, but I had an agent approach me who was very interested. She asked if other agents were looking at it and wanted it asap. I sent the full manuscript and two hours later she rejected it saying the book wasn't quite there. She was very nice, but it still stung a little. On to the next agent I guess. This was the first rejection on a full manuscript.

You should double down; call her up, ask her out on a date.

If she says yes, rejection won't sting so much.

If no, you're already through with her anyway.

Good luck.

On the other hand, good for you for getting requests for your full ms. Don't dwell long on rejections. They're just rungs on a ladder.
