"I'm game," I said.
So he shot me.

--no, wait. That's a different joke.

I'd be happy to beta read it. But it's all in the hopes of finding a suitable CP for my novel. Would you be up for an exchange of the first [insert number of words of your SF story here] of that work for your review?

My bg: I have a short piece due to come out as part of a print anthology later this year, and I've gotten many short works published in competitive e-zines over the years in my spare time. Just last year I semi-retired to take up writing (close to) full time and finish the aforementioned #WIP. I was a regular on critters for years. And I'm currently on several other critique-y (or, is that critique-ful?) websites.

Let me know!

Best,
_Mark

Hi,

My story is about 15,100 words so technically a novelette. Go ahead and send me the same number of words. Just so you know, I'm sending my story to a contest with a deadline of June 1 so I'd appreciate feedback within a timeframe to allow me to edit if needed.

All the best,

J
