Hello Bransforumers,

I'm afraid I don't have any "lurking" credentials; after reading the blog for a while unaware of the link that said "Forum", once I saw it I had a look around, saw how awesome it seemed, and signed myself up.

I write all manners of things, and my current WIP is a horror set in London during WWII. It's complete, but I'm now sweating over the query and synopsis. I'm looking forward to trying to give good advice, and may even put up my query at some point to be ripped to shreds

Hello everyone. I've also decided to finally step up and join this forum after lurking for quite some time. I write mainstream and women's fiction and could talk about writing all day long - which sometimes gets in the way of actually writing. Hoping to meet many friends and learn a lot along the way.

Hi everyone! Another lurker here, deciding to actually join the conversation. I'm a big fan of reading blogs and forums and gleaning all sorts of useful information from other people. However, recently I decided maybe I should pay it forward a bit. We'll see if I have anything useful to say...

By way of introduction, I'm a YA writer, currently working on my first future best seller! I'm still learning the ropes, and I have been for a while. I'm assuming at some point I'll discover that there is, in fact, another side. Hopefully I'll get there. In addition to writing almost all the time, I'm also an avid reader. And even though I write YA, I love a wide variety of genres. I'd probably have a hard time narrowing down my favorite book ever, but it might be The Count of Monte Cristo. Or maybe Book of a Thousand Days. Or maybe The Lord of the Rings. Or maybe... okay, I'll stop. I love reading so much!! I love the thrill of getting lost in another world, and I hope that I can create that same thrill for my future readers.

When I'm not writing, I'm a fine art photographer. Aside from that, I like hiking, thrift store shopping, making emergency doughnut runs, and making googly eyes at my husband. Oh yeah, and I make the best chocolate chip cookies you've ever had. Seriously.

Finally, I'd like to say a HUGE thanks to Nathan for the never-ending supply of good advice he gives, as well as the many forum members that share their wisdom so freely!

Hi all! I've been a long-time reader of Nathan's blog and finally decided that just reading wasn't going to be as much fun as taking part in the forum!

By way of introduction I'm an adult Science Fiction/ Speculative Fiction writer in my spare time, really hoping to get my work published in the traditional sense one day. When I'm not writing I'm reading. I have a wide ranging taste in that area from the works of Tom Clancy and Michael Crichton to the funnier pieces by Bill Bryson.

I love playing rugby, cycling and watching TV with my wife and kids.


So in a nutshell, HI! I'm really excited to be a part of this community and, of course, to be privileged to have access to the wealth of helpful hints, tips and information that Nathan so kindly shares with us all on his blog!

I'm a new arrival on this forum. I have also been reading the helpful tips on the blog, which are definitely answering many of my frequently asked questions. I am very grateful to have this opportunity to learn from others.

Born in the United States, I've lived my entire life in Israel, with the exception of a recently completed two-year work contract in Bulgaria, a country that I fell in love with and which is the setting for my work in progress.

I self-published a collection of short stories in 2004, but this time I will be searching for an agent and go mainstream.

I am almost there. I finished the first draft and am now editing, polishing, and verifying my research.

I look forward to sharing, and to helping out where I can with the exciting journey we have all selected to take.

I've been following Nathan's blog for the last two years I've been working on my first book. He's fabulous and the information he's given out has helped me incredibly. I've been especially interested in all he's posted about the strides taking place in self-publishing right now. I'm midway through publishing my historical fantasy novel myself and can use all the support and help I can get. I've learned some along the way also and would love to give back to anyone I can:)

Hello everyone!

I started visiting Nathan's blog a number of months back after I completed my first manuscript. I deliberately put off doing any kind of research into the publishing industry while writing probably because I knew it would overwhelm me. Lo and behold, I'm now overwhelmed. After taking so much care to make sure I worked on my novel every day the only thing I work every day on now is excuses. I think the root of my intimidation is that what I read is not what I write. The current and relevant reading I do is mostly non-fiction while the fiction I read is mostly old, foreign or both. So while I'm here having forumly discussions I'm hoping to gain some insight into markets relevant to my own work.

Hello, all! Just thought I'd pop in to introduce myself. I'm somewhat anonymously going by Writer Ex, but it's just because I'm new to forums and they make me slightly nervous, added to the fact that sharing my own writing sends me into a whirlwind of terror and uncertainty. Anyway, though, I've been lurking around Nathan's blog for, gosh, maybe three years now, so it's well past time I joined in.

A brief "about me" - I'm a total amateur, deeply devoted to my genre fiction (fantasy, sci-fi, and horror, mainly), I have trouble finishing things (I know, I know - unfortunately, I seem to have the attention span of a flea once I get past the halfway point in my own work), and I'm utterly determined to keep going.

Looking forward to some great discussions!
