Nathan Bransford - The Forums

Does anyone else see an uptick in spam after posting in these forums? I don't have a the squiggly-password thing setup for comments but I do have Akismet activated. It's pretty consistent. I post in the forums and get about two dozen spam comments on my site in the next 24 hours. Just wondering.

I had not noticed that, but I will now look out for it. I'll let you know if I also receive a bump, starting....now.

I hadn't thought about it, but of the links in my sig, only one is a blog and since I started posting here, I did start seeing more of those same idiots doing the "essay writing service" spam that they do here. Of course, I have my blog set to full moderation and I don't allow link posting, so mostly they are just wasting their time but it is still annoying.

I've never noticed any significant difference. I don't get a lot of spam on my blog and what I do get is caught by AKISMET. As long as AKISMET catches it, I don't really notice how much I get.

what is uptick in spam. I am not familiar with term. Please i will like to know. I do not like spamming or this kind of stuffs.
