Asked to Send a Query

Nathan, I was recently a finalist in a blog competition to pitch your novel in two sentences. The winner would receive a full ms request from a literary agent. The agent encouraged the finalists to send her a standard query with the requisite 5 pages. How should I mention in my letter that I am that person who was asked to do so?

Thanks for the advice and all the helpful blog posts!

I would say just slip it into the bio section of the query. Something simple should do the trick!

I might actually put that in the beginning instead of the bio. If the agent knows before reading the query that they requested it, they may read it more favorably.

Sorry it took me so long to get to this, I've been out of town. Best to mention it right up front!
