Confession of an old writing addict

They say confession is good for the soul, so when I was challenged on another forum, I had to take a deep look inside myself, and it wasn't pretty. Truth is often painful, but when finally spoken becomes freeing to the person.
I admit, I used to live on ink and graphite. Then in high school, I switched to IBM Selectric. It was hard at first, but became easier with more practice. I didn't have the heart to tell my mom I preferred IBM. She was a secretary and it would have been too difficult for her to accept.
Things went from there to the most addictive of all - Apple in 1986. It was the floppy disks that hooked me. Those cute hand-sized objects that worked most of the time, but on occasion failed to give me a reboot. Fortunately, Microsoft came along and improved the product, thus securing me for life.
My name is Shawn Lamb. I'm an author and writing addict.
Anyone else for a little fun? :)
