I just finished reading Junot Diaz's Pulitzer Prize winner (The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao) and I was talking to my husband about it as it relates to an article I read recently in Time Magazine called "Who's The Voice of this Generation"

I thought that his book is a good example of what Andrea Sachs says: "Listen for the singular voice of the current generation, and you'll hear something else, something different: multiple voices, singing not in unison, but in harmony."

What do you think? Is there anyone out there who we could call "The Voice of this Generation"

This is interesting. My answer is sort of cheating, but I wonder if the 'voice' of this generation won't be any one author, but Twitter/Facebook/Blogs, etc.

This is the first generation to have such on-line access to writing with an almost immediate audience. It will be very interesting to see how that affects the generation as a group.

So, I didn't exactly answer your question, but it gave me food for thought - thanks. :)
