My ID is AimeeBea. For some reason, I'm not able to get onto the NaNo website. Must be too busy. I was excited for this since I've never done it before, but then November 1st hit, and I have a feeling I'm going to give up within the first week. :)

My NaNo name is tellgreatstories
Does anyone have a list of the NaNo names for everyone on Nathan's boards? I tried to find as many as I could in the threads but I feel like I'm missing some. I want to follow and support everyone!

Third time today I've tried and failed to get into the NaNo site. The widgets in the first post also never load for me. Hmm, maybe I picked the wrong year to try this out.

The site is busy, and down. It happens every year (except the last!) on November first because of the heavy traffic. It's also why the widgets don't load half the time. Don't worry, I know for a fact that their splendid tech guy called reinforcements to fix the database, which is overwhelmed by the 150,000 Wrimos trying to update their wordcounts simultaneously. :)
Sommer: the list there is what I had gathered from the first NaNoWriMo thread. Every who posted that they'd participate would be put on it. I probably missed some, but I guess that's the best we have?

Wow, all I can say is that is some serious accountability. Good luck everyone. Call if you need coffee and chocolate. :)

Compared to Claudie I feel like a stooge. XD
I hope tonight I can make up for it!
Of course, last night I sat in the chair from 6:30 to 11 and didn't move to eat or pee. I don't know if that's a good thing... XD
Tonight, I must not skip dinner. Bad, bad girl.

Hi, Claudie. What a great job! I'm impressed.
I won't have any words. I'll go to most of the write-ins, hang out, drink coffee, and write... but I'm finalizing the novel I already have instead of starting another one. I'll be cheering everybody else on, though.

Well, this time I got as far as the log-in, but I still can't get onto the site. Too busy during Pacific Time waking hours, perhaps?

I don't know about that. It took forever last night at 11:30pm central. XD

This is common for the first couple of days. Then they get it squared away and back up and running. The more popular they get every year the worse it is.
I don't want to jinx anyone, but once people lose the initial excitement and start dropping out it gets much, much better.

Heh. I was thinking the same thing. XD
Of course, we run training classes at work that go like this, so I'm used to being negative:
We offer to 40.
35 accept.
28 show up.
20 make it to the end of the first week.
12 graduate.
8 make it to the floor.
Of those, 2 might make it for the long term. (I'm using my class as an example, considering me and another guy are still here, five years later.)
This is how it works, unfortunately. So when I'm putting bundles together, and I'm running low, I just think about how many I'll be getting back in refurb, barely touched.
