Send MS to editor I met when MS isn't finished?

I placed in a contest that was judged by an editor whose work I really respect. She read the first few chapters of my manuscript, made some great comments, and asked me to contact her. That's great! Except... the manuscript isn't finished. It wasn't a requirement of entering the contest. I've written several completed drafts of the novel, but it still needs some pretty major structural revisions before I would consider sending it out.

So I'm not sure when I should get in touch with the editor, or what I should say. Any advice, Nathan? Thanks!

I would reach out to the editor while it's fresh and mention what you have polished. Just say that you could send it now or hold off until the whole thing is ready, whichever she prefers.
