It gets me every single time!

Has this ever happened to you?

I'll be working on my book, merrily editing and having a grand 'ol time. An idea will occur to me - a FANTASTIC sentence or two that is perfect in every respect. I'll write it into the scene, and then sit back and think what a great writer I am. Just as I'm about to pat myself on the back...

...I come across the same darned thing, almost word for word as I've just written it, a few lines down!!! Harrumph!

It's happened to me over and over, almost every time I sit down to write. Each and every time it catches me by surprise.

Am I the only one?

Not exactly the same thing, but I once lost a page I'd written, rewrote it, found the original, and they were almost identical!

Oh - the writer's mind. I haven't done this one, but I've written things, and then later realized I never actually wrote them down! Arrrghhh. :)

When I do this, it's usually from Lord of the Rings. . . always makes me laugh (then pause, then wonder what else I've plagiarised along the way).

Ha! I've done that a couple of times myself. I figure if it's good enough that I thought of it twice then I most definitely need to leave it in...but probably only once.
