Soccer!
Who watches soccer?
Personally I find it to be the perfect sport to write to (at least, if I don't have a rooting interest in the teams that are playing). It's good background noise, you can pay attention when something exciting is happening, and it's on during prime writing time.
I'm excited about the end of the premier league season and of course the Champions League. Hoping Liverpool makes top four and that Juventus is able to hold on in Barca to keep going in the Champions League. Of course, if Liverpool makes it, that means Bryan Russell's beloved Man U probably won't.
Most importantly: Newcastle will be back next year.

Re: Soccer!
Nearly everyone I know follows soccer or Gaelic Football, an Irish game similar to soccer. I don't. I do like motor racing and yacht racing, which are also popular in Ireland, luckily.
My brother supports Chelsea with near-religious fervor. Seeing his passion and that of other fans I'm not surprised El Salvador and Honduras went to war over a soccer match in 1969!

Re: Soccer!
I think Man U can do it. Call me an optimist.
And Barca's out of the Champion's League, and so is Bayern Munich. And the young guns at Monaco are still in.
Though I must admit that I'd find it hard to write if Man U were playing. Maybe if it was Sunderland and Hull...

Re: Soccer!
The Manchesters both drop points! How did they let that happen? Liverpool is breathing a sigh of relief.
