What's your take on the B&N Nook?

I'm one of those faithful, old-fashioned paper book readers who's committed to keeping the spirit of paper books in the air by never reading an e-book, but my commitment has wavered and I've found that some devilish force has come over me and I'm slightly interested in the Nook.
I don't need any criticism because I'm ladling it over my head, and I don't need any encouragement because I don't want it. ( ;
All the same, I was wondering what your (meaning the other people addicted to Nathan’s blog) take on the Nook is. Compared to the Kindle, how does it stand? I played around with it for a minute in B&N last weekend, and I've checked out the info on the B&N site, but everything you see there, of course, is positive.
I still hope I never buy an e-reader, and now, as a kid, I can't afford it. I do see that I'm not as strong a person as I thought I was. I guess that’s a disappointment I’ll have to live with.
A note to my loves: Paper books, I love you. I don't care if you're killing trees. You're my darlings and I will never abandon you. I might just have some fun with your electronic "cohorts" someday.
