Hello everyone,

I am a new author and am trying my hand at the Young Adult (YA) genre. During the writing process, I realized that creating realistic characters, engaging plots, and plots that are appropriate for teenage readers is an interesting challenge.

Some issues I am wondering about and would like to share with the community:

How to build a YA character that is both close to teenagers but still has psychological depth?

When writing about sensitive topics (like friendship, love, mental health), how can I be both realistic and appropriate for the age of the reader?

What experiences do you have when writing YA while still maintaining your own writing style, without being “clichéd” or stereotyped?

I look forward to receiving your sharing, suggestions, and YA writing stories. Every comment is valuable and will help me develop better writing skills.

Thank you everyone for reading and sharing!
