shoot. now i'm really tempted to go "foe" someone just to see the button work. what is it about discovering a new button that just makes you want to push it?
Re: So do you have any foes on this site?
:) I like that.on this site it should be protagonist/antagonist
I'm same way aspiring_x. I always want to push the button.what is it about discovering a new button that just makes you want to push it?

That could get pretty awkward if they do know though.... I mean, I feel like foe-ing somebody is similar to slapping them in the face with a glove and thus entering into a challenge. If did find anyone to foe and since PMing is not stopped, I would always be expecting come kind of message from them like "At 12 o'clock under the town hall clock we will duel. Bring pistols and one guest. MWHAHAHAHA".... Just me?
Also, how many people have friended Nathan? I'm tempted to but equally think he might flip over the level of stalker-like status this constitutes... although I'm still not sure what friending actually does...

Jaime, I always thought something about you seemed sort of shifty...

@miahayson-
I've thought about friending Nathan too, and, like you...don't really want him to freak out. And I don't really think the friend button really does anything...maybe let you know when the person is online?

Just as an experiment, I "friended" charlotte49ers the day I posted this.
I really don't think it has done either of us any good.

I'm glad you feel special!
But I still don't think it does much.

Re: So do you have any foes on this site?
If it made a difference, I have found one on these here forums that would deserve to be foe'd by me. I don't want to name names, though I'm sure that anyone who follows this site religiously like I do would instantly know who I speak of. He or she has offered nothing to the site except a jumble of words that mean absolutely nothing. They are not replies to the original post, they offer no advice to other writers on here and it looks an awful lot to me like spam. Spam! Here! I was honestly appalled!
Okay, ranting is complete. If anyone can figure out what the purpose of adding a foe is, perhaps you can let me know. If enough people foe a particular person, is it possible for them to be banned from posting his useless spamming on the one forum that I thought was safe from it? Well, at least it is easy enough to spot and just skip right over.

Re: So do you have any foes on this site?
Branding someone a foe helps protect your privacy. It is standard in some applications, but is especially helpful if anyone has had stalker problems. For some of us, this is an important issue. The experience of having someone search your name, read your comments, then email you with hate mail or creepy comments isn't something you want to happen. Definitely buggers up your day. Brings home the fact that just as the internet gives us lots of information and options, it also enables the creeps among us to branch out.
I had asked about the ability to block 'foes' and Nathan did reply with some information. I also reported the stalker to Google, who may or may not have contacted the user. I don't think Google does much, unless legal proceedings take place. So I for one, am glad that we have this option. Blocking has worked so far, but if necessary this other feature (identifying foes) is there if needed.
I wonder about the one person who is posting about 15 variations (maybe less) website links in his comment but says nothing as to what they are -- I assume it's his website & he's trying to direct us there. Why would anyone want to link to a site like that? These were posted on the last two days - in INK's post and on Wed.'s post by Nathan.

Kaye, South Park was right. Those Canadians are TOO nice. They've got to be up to something. They're lulling us all into a false sense of security. And Bryan's already admitted to having an itchy trigger finger...

Yup, got some people on my ignore list.
That J.T. Shea individual in particular is extremely annoying - the way he was so complimentary of an excerpt I posted was just... ugh, sickening. And I've gotta say it, Nathan Bransford went on my ignore list right away. That guy is SO annoying.
