Protocol for submitting a partial

I know that you're supposed to put a query into the body of an email, and not as an attachment. Is it the same with a partial? Or is it okay at that point to add it as an attachment?

It's usually okay to put a partial in an attachment, I believe, unless they specifically state otherwise. But make sure to indicate in the e-mail that the attachment is for the material they requested so there's no confusion.

I believe you're supposed to put it as an attachment since email screws up formatting. Plus I just read on another agent's blog that if it's an attachement they can send it to their kindle as opposed to an email which can only be read as an email.

I would say in the body though that it was requested material.

You could even write "Requested Partial Attached" as your email title if you're that worried about it. But I've sent out literally hundreds of attachments to agents and never once had a problem with it.
