Oh man... has anyone looked at the draw? That tiebreaker between the U.S. and England was huge. U.S. gets Ghana, and then the winner of Uruguay/South Korea. To get to the Semis. Well, that's one surprise team guaranteed in the semis. And England has to go through Germany. And then Argentina. And that's just to get to there. That's one tough row to hoe. And they'd still have to win a semi and final after that to get the Cup. My expectations have, um, diminished. And why do my two teams have to play each other in the round of 16? I'm feeling downtrodden. I must say, though, that U.S. team has a great opportunity. I suppose the Ghanaians and Uruguayans are saying the same thing, though...

Yeah, I noticed, Bryan. I've been cheering for Argentina and England since it started, but it looks like they'll face each other in quarter finals.
And wow, Italy is having a rough time at the moment.

And there goes my bracket as the Azzurri lose in a game that held no passion for their side until only the final minutes. I will now name several mid or attacking players who should have made the team, in spite of their age, because there wasn't a striker with any ingenuity on this year's side.
Francesco Totti
Allesandro Del Piero
Filippo Inzaghi
Christian Vieri
Oh well. At least I can keep cheering for England and USA.

Boy that was funny!
Too bad the US has conceded early again. I wonder if psychologically they know how to score first? I guess I won't worry yet, since they've proved to be quite skilled at playing from behind.

Aaaw, I can't believe how many sadface pictures or tearful song videos I've come across today. There is one positive side to this affair: at least all goals were fair and it was an incredible match. I was on the edge of my seat until the very end (and I was rooting for Ghana, for the record). I hope after this, Ghana gives Kingson something special because... wow.

CRAZY.
I was just telling my wife how England are cursed, and how in pretty much every major championship in recent years something odd happens that kills their chances (ie. Beckham's infamous red card). And also how, of all the players, Lampard is really the most cursed for England. He scores piles of goals for Chelsea, but he can't buy a goal for England in a big game. He could take twenty shots in a game, and none would go in. Or, apparently, if they do go in they won't be recognized by referees.
CRAZY.
But, you know, I'm totally looking forward to the second half. :)
