I don't get to start until after work tonight. So probably around 7pm central or so. I have things planned in my head but nothing done yet. I've been rolling ideas out like dough and kneading it all day while doing busy work. Which is great! I get most creative when busy working! :3

Alright, I got everyone's widgets set up
in another thread. :) They should update on their own through the month. I'll keep an link in my sig, that way if it falls down to another page of this forum, it still won't be too hard to find.
Happy NaNo to all!

There's a pile of fun-sized candy wrappers next to my laptop. How'd that get there?

Alright, I'm all set I think. I was going to write in my room tonight but the living room is empty aside from a sad puppy dog who's all alone. She's not allowed on the furniture unless someone is with her and there are blankets. Warm blankets.
I guess I could share a leather recliner. XD
Wish me luck! Here's to not checking the email every five seconds.

Bad sign when the NaNo site can't handle Day 1 traffic. I've managed to get about 1/3 of my friends added to my friend list and you don't want to know how long that has taken me.
Just finished The Walking Dead episode 1 and now I'm curling up to write for the next few hours. Hope everyone had a productive day 1 !

I know. I havent been able to get on all day :(
what did you think about Walking Dead? Not sure if its because I just finished reading Feed by Mira Grant (TOTALLY RECOMMEND IT), but I was yelling at the screen the entire time. Don't really like the main character. Felt sorry for the poor horse...

Day 1 traffic is pretty much a NaNo-classic. It's bad and annoying, but the only year the managed to stall it was the last. If they got it fixed it should hold, though. Day 1 is always the worst. :)
I'm well off, although whether I'll successfully manage to maintain the rhythm through the month is another matter entirely. Today was my day off, really.

I loved the first episode of The Walking Dead. Have you read the comic? The comic is stellar storytelling. It has stayed pretty true to the comic so far. Rick Grimes, the main character, is a pretty multi-layered character. He is kind of unlikable sometimes, that is true, and sometimes he proves to be an outstanding hero, and other times he makes wretched mistakes. I'm looking forward to seeing if they follow that troubled hero storyline.
I thought they did an excellent job of creating a great atmosphere, although a lot of this first episode was kind of slow. The thing about the comic was that while there are zombies in the world, the story is really about the survivors - good and bad. Mostly bad. It feels like they are keeping to that. I wonder if this will turn people off who think they are coming into a story about zombies.
The voice on the radio at the end of the episode? I am pretty sure that is a character named Glen, an Asian kid who I fell in love with in the comic! He's a master of getting around the city without getting caught by the infected.
I read Feed by Mira Grant. I liked it very much. Cried like someone broke my heart at the end. A very, very gutsy twist.

Soooo...I had to ditch first person. I think I lost an hour on that. XD
I can't write in first. I just...can't. Me and Bradley just stood there like...uhm...well...no. Just...no.
And it took forever to get a start but once I did, it's just coming out and out and out! And now I don't want to stop but I have to because I have to work tomorrow.
I'm pretty sure I'll kill most of this but...oh well! Word count, baby!
I can't believe I'm almost two days in where last year I fell a week behind! XD
Ah, bed...I need you. Darn medical stuff had me tripping...
But I did find this helpful:

I like to describe eyes. XD

I am so crazy. Wrote my lit fic all day. It made me cry. Brought me to tears. 2500+ words
HAD to start my comic relief piece. Need to laugh too. Need to have no idea where I'm going. 2000 words
control vs. free writing
dichotomies. dichotomies.
