Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro. A little bit twee at the moment. Getting better, though, I think.

"Outliners" by Malcolm Gladwell - Very interesting concepts about success, life, community, IQ, and many other aspects that shape our lives. (For those who haven't read Outliners, in the beginning, he describes what it takes to become an expert at any subject. According to his findings, it's 10,000 hours of doing. Have any of use spent 10,000 hours writing? I know I'm a little short.)

Just finished a couple of Jeffrey Deaver books and have the new "Under the Dome", but haven't resolved myself to dive into a book heavy enough to break my glass book shelf next to my desk. Thinking about re-reading "The Stand" for comparison.

Barbara Kingsolver's The Lacuna.

Anna Karenina. Eventhough i read mainly classic fiction I am finding thw writing style of this one quite easy to read, except when it desends into chapters of Russian politics.

I'm finally picking up Moneyball: The Art of Winning an Unfair Game by Michael Lewis. It's supposed to be an excellent non-fiction about the economics and business of baseball. Sounds like good stuff and pretty excited about it.

I just finished Hush, Hush which was a great book to read following The Book Thief. It was such a fun read and I needed something for the holidays that wouldn't make me cry like TBT did. Now I'm reading The Heretic's Daughter about the witch trials in Salem.

I'm reading the expanded version of Stephen King's The Stand. I read the original many years ago, and loved it. In fact, it's long been a favorite of mine.

If anyone has ever wondered why editing is so important, read this version of the novel. Way too bloated.

<i>African Psycho</i>, by Alain Mabanckou. Would be serial killer narrating his story...

I'm reading THE STUPIDEST ANGEL by Chris Moore. Not only is he a great writer but a cool dude as well. This book ranks up there Fluke but not quite a good as Blood Sucking Fiends.
