I had my title first, but then I had to modify it slightly, as there were already 3 books with that title, and none of them particularly good from the reviews/sales. The name change might actually end up changing some minor aspects of my story.

I brainstorm with some of the uber-creative people in my life. Braionstorming might not produce the actual title, but it will get my creativity flowing and by the next day, its there.
Titles are important. Who wants to request a book at the library or ask the bookseller at B&N "Do you have
My Feet Stink in stock?"

When in doubt, name it after the main character (Harry Potter, Eragon)
With my current WIPS, which are in a duet, I named them each after the most important piece of setting in the book that sets the plot moving. In the first it's Griffin's Song, after the pirate ship that ruins the protagonists life and that is being chased by the navy.
