I write in chapters, and to me it just comes naturally where the chapter should end or begin.

I can't say I consciously follow the three act chapter structure proposed by Nathan, but I seem to fall into something like it anyway, except I put my frequent chapter breaks where other writers might just skip a line. Likewise my short paragraphs, typically three or four sentences, and even the sentences themselves. Each has a beginning, middle, and end.
When rereading, I feel inclined to subdivide even further. In particular, I have made little use so far of the single sentence paragraph, which can be overdone (like all things) but can make a great impact.
