Still reading the facsimile of the first edition of On the Origin of Species, though I'm coming near the end. Also been reading The Personal Memoirs of Ulysses S. Grant over the past couple of days. I seem to be in a bit of a non-fiction mood lately.

After finishing Orhan Pamuk's The Museum of Innocence last week (Moving, complex, thought provoking, and haunting ..as always), I started Salman Rushdie's Midnight's Children right away. Amazing so far...

The Children's Book by A.S. Byatt... so far, it's deeply engrossing, beautifully written, and very compelling.

Just started Daughter of the Forest by Juliet Marillier. So far it's interesting, although I keep thinking I'm further along than I am...

Instead of watching the super bowl (although I am rooting for the Saints) I'm 60 pages into a very good YA book by Daniel Kraus called The Monster Variations. If you like thrilling yet also rich YA, I recommend. You're welcome.

Now reading Brom's The Child Thief. OH DEAR GOD! His writing makes me drool. I'd highly recommend it.

For my first post I thought I would admit to re-reading the Black Jewels Trilogy by Anne Bishop for the 12th time. Yes, I really am that addicted. I am also reading Succubus Blues by Richelle Mead for the 2nd time just because I can ;)

Her: You mean 'til you're dead right?
Me: No, I'll enforce it from beyond the grave

I'm now reading THE LACUNA by Barbara Kingsolver, who I will hopefully get to meet at the San Miguel writer's conference next weekend.

I'm reading 'At Risk'. The main character is an MI5 agent and it's written by Stella Rimington, the former head of MI5. She's got some nice platform going there! Oh and the book is good too, so far.

I'm reading BEAUFORT, by Ron Leshem.

Nathan, have you read THE POISONWOOD BIBLE? It's been on my reading pile for ages, but I've never gotten around to it.
