You know how sometimes you stop for a perfect description and marvel at the author's brilliance? Found one in A Dance with Dragons: http://claudiea.blogspot.com/2011/07/mo ... ce-of.html

(no spoilers, I promise)
"I do not think there is any thrill [...] like that felt by the inventor as he sees some creation of the brain unfolding to success... Such emotions make a man forget food, sleep, friends, love, everything." -- Nikola Tesla

Do books have built in mood lighting?

How the way books make us feel effect our perception of them when we finish.

E-books are up 160.1% in the first five months of 2011 (from the same period last year). Print has fallen dramatically in all categories. Meanwhile, Borders is closing and Barnes & Noble plans to further reduce store space (and orders) for books and return many of the books they already have to publishers.
