Re: Sold my soul to Twitter
They can also be used for commentary. Example:
Twitter is so productive. #notreally
Started walking a quarter-mile into my 10k race. #fitnessmaster
It's not necessary to have a tag. It's just a way to potentially jump into a larger conversation.

Thanks, Hektor!
So do those tags really exist? Or will I identify myself as a noob if I make up a tag like #worksucks (though I'd imagine that already exists).
I guess I'm still learning and trying to understand how this works. I feel like unless you are confident that you have something A) worth saying and B) that others will want to know, that there's not much of a point to Twitter. But don't despair (I know, you were despairing, weren't you?), I'm going to stay for a bit and see what else I can pick up...

No you won't look like a noob Everyone makes them up. That's half the fun. Some of them are obvious and used often, like #amwriting, others are more because they are funny commentary on whatever you are writing about.trixie wrote:Thanks, Hektor!

I don't Tweet OFTEN, but about the time when I hop on to check what's going on on Twitter is about the same time when a handful of my Twitter friends are on too, so I comment on what they are doing and I know that if I post something they will probably comment. The conversations are not always worth saying, usually they are just us goofing around instead of writing. But I love it

Made-up tags are highly encouraged.trixie wrote:Thanks, Hektor!

In fact, I find myself wanting to use them in other venues. #truestory

Re: Sold my soul to Twitter
It has been an overall crappy week and these last 3-4 posts made me spontaneously giggle. Thank you. #warmfuzzies
So I'm trying to tweet the following:
Doing my best to keep my chin up this week but life keeps dealing rejection my way. Maybe July will be better?
And it keeps telling me: Sorry! We did something wrong. Try sending your Tweet again in a minute
For the past 3 days I've had this problem. Suggestions?

Re: Sold my soul to Twitter
For some reason, I'm reluctant to make up #phrases, so I've tweeted things like "Twitter keeps unfollowing me from people hashtagyouSUCK". It seems like such a sissy thing to do now.

TL- it's not you. Twitter has been going up and down this week for me. I think maybe they are doing some upgrading? I'm not sure. I've found closing the tab and going back in helps, sometimes just wait it out.

Really? I haven't had a problem yet. Of course, I have something better.
A LIFE.
Mwahaha!
Actually. I don't. I lied. I tweet a lot, too.

Wish we could make a twitter group for all of us on there. Do we have a post listing all our Twitter names?
