Zombie Awareness Month

Post by Cookie » May 9th, 2011, 10:57 am

Apparently May is zombie awareness month. How come I did not know this before now?

Here are some really awesome zombie websites:

I think I'm going to celebrate by reading some zombie books.

Ammo! Good idea.

Robin, I have 2 of those on my TBR pile. I will have to check on Feed. Thanks for the recommendations!

This might warrant rewatching it. And then Zombieland. I need to check on my stock of Twinkies.

Thank god someone created a zombie awareness month. I was starting to worry we'd forget about them!

I'll add to Robin's list, although I want to super underline Feed. The sequel, Deadline, comes out May 31st!

The Zombie Survival Guide: Recorded Attacks by Max Brooks (graphic novel companion to The Zombie Survival Guide)
The Walking Dead graphic novels (and the television show)
Boneshaker by Cherie Priest

And the movie Carriers is the best non-zombie Zombie movie I have ever seen.
May the word counts be ever in your favor. http://www.sommerleigh.com
Be nice, or I get out the Tesla cannon.

Sommer,

I'm reading Boneshaker right now. It's pretty good.

I was all for the original "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies," but I think the imitations by other authors are getting a little too strange. Tom Sawyer, maybe, but Lake Woebegone? Star Trek?
Incidentally, if anybody is a writer of this kind of stuff, may I suggest "Baron Munchhausen"? Maybe even Rabelais or the Old Testament?
Everybody loves using things as other things, right? Check out my blog at the Cromulent Bricoleur and see one hipster's approach to recycling, upcycling, and alterna-cycling (which is a word I just made up).
