This week I discuss agents, why they're too nice at times, and what they can do to speed up the query process a bit.

My new post today is about changes in the publishing industry and their effects. One of the things that shocked me was the amount of books that are returned and pulped. In Canada alone that equates to 600,000 trees per year for books that no-one ever reads, and remember, the US publishing industry is 20 times larger.

Oh and I also wrote a haiku about questionable taxidermy practices in the UK: http://davidgaughran.wordpress.com
