Writer's Block: Ignore It?

When I mentioned Writer's block in my class, my prof. immediately piped up with this:

"I don't know when the muse will come, but when she comes she'll find me working." - Flannery O'Connor

Suck it up and keep working, eventually the block will dissipate and you be flowing like a river. (Granted this is easier said than done, but don't give up!)

Listening to music helps me--seems to be a catalyst for daydreaming. Running helps too. I've had loads of ideas while running. To music ;)

Taking a shower or a long hot bath has helped me in the past. Maybe it's the water and the time to think that helps me order my thoughts to figure out what stopping me from writing.
And quiet, lots of quiet (something that I seem to be missing at the moment)

I put a movie on the boob tube and disect the intro, rising action, climax, etc., until the creative juices flow once again. Sometimes it takes a while, sometimes it take five minutes. Sometimes it's The Outlaw Josey Wales, or the Bourne series, or The Firm, or if I know I need a lot of time, The Godfather.

It's weird, but it works for me.
