8 Inches of Snow in Atlanta

Post by Robin » January 12th, 2011, 5:00 pm

It snowed over 8 inches in north GA this week. The kids have been out all week and probably won't return to school until Tuesday, next week (*tear*). I decided to stop pulling out my hair and share a video I made of my kids sledding, southern style-- complete with boogie boards!

You're so funny. Now, come to Colorado and we'll get you all on an Academy Award-worthy hill. *grin*

Oh, Did I mention I HATE THE SNOW! I am so over this snow. I honestly could not live up north, unless there was a zombie apocalypse or something. Send me to Hawaii, FL, CA...

I'm with you. We only got three or four inches (W TN) and the kids are back in school but we're stuck with night time temps in the teens and negative wind chill factors during the day until this weekend when it's supposed to rain. I love Winter when it's somewhere else.

Hilarious -- I loved it and laughed out loud! It's precious.

And ha ha, you got our snow -- we only have 2 inches here in rotten old cold Pennsylvania.

Love the video Robin!

I just went out to shovel... again.

I'm in New England and I got about 12 inches of snow today. Good news, office closed. Bad news, I'm not sure I will be able to get in tomorrow!

I'm in New England and we got closer to 24 inches. Luckily I like snow. It's pretty. And it freaks my cats out when I bring in a handful (something about the way it disappears quickly when it melts weirds them out). What more could I ask?

I got about 15 inches where I am (also New England). I love the snow too, I just hate digging out my car the next day. I love how everything is so silent when it falls. I like to curl up with hot chocolate and watch it.
8 inches is kind unusual for GA though, isn't it?

I'm up in Quebec City, and three years ago I had 7 feet of snow in front of my house at this very same date. Today it's more like three, which is quite lower than our average. There's even some places I can see the grass! *gasp* *shock*

I have to say, I understand there's only a couple of snowplow in Atlanta, whereas we have something like 150 over here, but it the first alert about everything closing down for a few inches made me chuckle. Not at anyone in particular; it's better to close everything down and prevent some accidents. Winter just isn't the same in GA than up here. :)

<peers out at the gorgeous blue sky and sunshine> Umm...I don't think so, Robin, though being born and raised in the desert I celebrate the rain.

I think that if I keep this up, y'all are gonna hunt me down with pitchforks and eat Cheeky's chocolate cake in front of me without sharing. Oh, the torture!! I do like you all, I swear! :)
