Is anyone else bummed about no more page critique Mondays?
I usually read Nathan's blog posts through my e-mail but I just had to comment about this. Just so you know Nathan, I REALLY enjoyed page critique Mondays, and looked forward to them through the entire weekend!
I'm just sayin'.

But hey, you joined the Forum so you'll get to participate. All that's changed is the day and location.

I'm bummed, but I'm happy. As long as there are critiques, I will follow them. And it IS more intimate here....

I am a bit too. It's Tuesday where I am by the time they're posted, and I like reading them over breakfast. But I usually didn't have time to comment so maybe the change will be for the better.
Re: Is anyone else bummed about no more page critique Mondays?
How are the mechanics of it handled?
New thread for each critique with comments?
One running thread for first page and one for queries
with no comments in a locked thread and with other linked threads for forum members comments?
I know as it begins its new form you'll link to it in the blog so I'm asking (rhetorical) questions aimed at what thread titles to look for
when going to forums as the first stop before the blog.
You could consider doing both,
using the forum as the randomly selected exercise and occasionally highlighting a strong page or query once a month, that appeals to your particular eye for quality and causes curiosity towards a request for a partial. Then a dissection of whats working for that particular query or first page.
I was getting bored with it only because I don't like to red pencil peoples stuff without permission and active two direction feedback.
Fiction writing is an *art* and a *craft* needing awesome plot and characters linked to efficient predictable pacing
that gets the reader emotionally ready for the twist and turns of the roller coaster they have agreed to take a ride on.

Bring back the sudden contest springing up idea. People get a kick out of that.

I'm not bummed.
I'm determined.
Determined to hack into Nathan's random number generator.

Me too! How do I convince that thing to pick me?
Re: Is anyone else bummed about no more page critique Mondays?
I liked the old format. The comments on the blog were easier for me to follow. With all the redlining on the new format, I get dizzy.
So, I just jumped from the opening post to Nathan's comments.
Maybe, I'll get used to it, but it felt cluttered in this new format.

Hmm. I quit reading the Monday blog because I wasn't interested in crits. I'm in a couple of crit groups and see way too many pages that need to be critiqued every week.
So...sorry. I'm glad for the change.
