Hi. I write novels with a strong romantic theme and a happy (or at least, satisfying) ending.
Currently I’m working on two contemporary (meaning “could be happening in current times”) guy-meets-girl stories set in the American West. Cowboys or horses are mentioned, but no cattle get rustled and nobody gets shot.
One of the stories is about 40,000 words, where Novella meets Novel length. It features a songwriter, a singer, and their daughter. It contains some sexual references, some objectionable language, brief nudity and some prayer.
The other story is 130,000 words. (It wasn’t a goal, it’s just turning out that way! Yeah, stuff happens.) This one includes explicit sexual activity and frequent use of coarse language.
If you would be interested in critiquing either of these, please reply and indicate which one. Also please describe what you're writing.
I thought we could begin by exchanging first chapters, make comments, and see how it goes.
Thanks,
PeytonR.

You can send me the first chapter of the story that you want me to read first. I will give you feedback on the plot, style, and rhythm to help you edit and improve the work.

Both of your stories sound so compelling, especially with the poetic American West setting – I enjoy how you develop the characters and their relationships! bitlife

I’m currently working on a contemporary romance myself, though mine leans more toward the small town theme with a bit of second chance romance thrown in. If you’d like to swap chapters, I’d love to see how our styles mesh.

Hi PeytonR!
Your stories sound intriguing, especially the 40,000-word novella with the songwriter and singer—I love the mix of music and family dynamics. I’m currently working on a contemporary chill guy clicker romance set in a small coastal town, focusing on second chances and self-discovery. I’d be happy to exchange first chapters for the novella and see how our feedback styles mesh. Let me know if you’re interested!
