Hahaha....why on earth?

Post by CharleeVale » December 24th, 2009, 11:41 pm

So I click on someone's screen name here, because I wanted to see if they had a website or blog listed in their profile that wasn't in their signature. (They didn't. Sad day, but that's not the point) Upon doing this, below the 'groups' section, I found two buttons.
The first: Add friend - Perfectly logical so that you can find the people you interact with the most on here.

The second: Add foe - ....What??? I pretty much burst out laughing when I saw this. What does this do? I'm really tempted to try it, but at the same time no one here is my enemy and I am hesitant. Just thought that this was funny.

Oh, and Merry Christmas!!!

I am Fortune's foe!

Okay, it sounded better when Leonardo DiCaprio did it. And I'm guessing it's if you don't want a particular person contacting you, but I'm not sure. Could just be funny! Probably have to wait for Nathan on that one. Or you can "Foe" me and we'll see what happens!

Generally, the foe setting allows you to ignore that person's posts (they are not displayed) and they are not allowed to post in threads you start. Each forum tends to handle the feature a little bit differently though...

Hehe that is funny.

I'm not sure if I'd want the person's posts to not show up in threads, because if someone responded to their post then you would have no idea what was going on. But that's just me.

I'm still tee-hee-ing with amusement over the friend or foe thing, I've never seen that terminology used before. :-P
