Yeah, me too. 30 to 35. Though I'm still hoping for an amazing 5th decade. I took up tai chi already and am planning on trying out distance running and yoga. I already look younger than I am; I'm working on the feeling younger part. I'm kinda jaded and cranky, though. :)Mira wrote:If I could halt my physical aging process - I think I'd pick early to mid 30s.

Margo - jaded and cranky? You've earned it. It's a birthright. You turn 50, and you get to snarl at puppies and no one blinks an eye. Enjoy it.
On a different note, I am so impressed with your routine. Wow.
midenscholar - that's impressive. :) You go.

Re: How old are you?
I will turn 33 in about a month.
I have a few "stories", if we use the term loosely, from high school. And during 1998-2000 I did a bit of writing for poems, but most of those were just for my journal and to get girls ;)
Honestly, I have wanted to write for a living since forever, but only just got into it in 2004, but only doing a great deal of world building. I did not actually get writing writing until January 2007. I wrote a 17k story in a month, spent another month editing, and then sent it into the Writers of the Future contest. I did not win or even place, but that was when I really got started.
I now have one novel almost completed and have 28-30 some other novel ideas in various stages of plotting or detailed in notes.

Re: How old are you?
I'm seventeen and feeling much less silly about it after seeing that so many people are nearly as young or younger. I've been writing stories for as long as I can remember (the first I can think of was one page when I was about six called 'The thing that wouldn't stop eating') and I started attempting novels in junior high. The first one to go anywhere I started when I was fifteen and I finished it a little after I turned sixteen. My second is nearly done and it would be a bit nearer still if I would get off my computer :)

Nonsense Tori. This is research ;D
Re: How old are you?
I'm 25, will be 26 in a few days. Started thinking about a novel idea in 2007, began to write it in 2008...took breaks here and there, and hope to be done this year.
Re: How old are you?
My 28th birthday is looming on the horizon (two months minus one day away) and I've been writing ever since kindergarten. I wrote my first 'book' when I was six, which was a gripping tale about Debbie Gibson's tragic brush with amnesia. I illustrated and bound it myself, and even now it sits tucked away in a dark drawer, a reminder of my rather humble roots.
I've always wanted to write a novel, but most of my stories would get as far as the first two pages - mainly because I had 'fantastic' ideas for openings, but no clue how to craft an actual plot. It wasn't until after years of roleplaying experience that I really grasped how a story is put together, and started writing my novel just under a year ago. Most of what I wrote before that was short short fiction (also known as flash fiction or vignettes), and I still enjoy writing those just for fun. But now that I've managed to craft one longform story, I'm addicted and I can't keep myself from plotting more. ^.^;

Re: How old are you?
I'm sixteen. Apparently, I've been "writing" since I could hold a pencil, "reading" since I could hold a book. There's pictures of me beaming with sheets of paper covered just in scribbles and sitting on the steps when I was two or three, holding ZOMBIES OF THE GENE-POOL (I have no comment on where I picked that book up from, or how my parents had it in the first place) upside-down trying to read it. I've been writing seriously since my freshman year in high school, two years ago now.
I'm working on two WiPs, one in the first draft and the other tentatively in it's second draft. These are my first novels.

Re: How old are you?
16, I wrote my first story when I was ten. It sucked, but I'm getting better.

I never want to hear the screams of the teenage girls in other people's dreams.
In the real word as in dreams, nothing is quite what it seems.
